added English translation of this bit

Space is in itself the contradiction of the indifferent being-apart and of the difference-less continuity, the pure negativity of itself and the transformation, first of all, to time. In the same manner time – since its opposite moments, held together in unity, immeditely sublate themselves – is the undifferentiated being-apart or: space.

And polished a little around and following this bit.

I have cross-linked PdG, Vorr. §5 with SoL, Vorr. §8

both on the project of making philosophy an empirical science (of absolute introspection, but empirical nonetheless ;-)

  1. Corrected the symbol listed for the infinitesimal shape modality in the formalisation dictionary. It was mistakenly written as &\& (infinitesimal flat modality) rather than \Im.

At the very very end, in the section “References – Formalizations”, I have added pointer (here) to

    • Uwe Petersen, 35 Thesen zur Grundlegung einer formalen dialektischen Logik — nebst Kommentaren, DILEMMATA: Jahrbuch der ASFPG 4 (2009) 125–207 [pdf]

This particular publication I have picked out at the moment just because that’s the one I was able to find an electronic copy of to have a quick look inside. Petersen has publications like

    • Die logische Grundlegung der Dialektik, Wilhelm Fink Verlag (1980)

which may deserve to be cited here, but I haven’t seen their content yet.

Generally, I have just the vaguest idea at the moment of what Petersen is proposing (though I decidedly enjoyed looking through his webpage and self-description here).

For the moment I am adding this link mostly so that I know where to find next time that i have the leisure to actually study it.

I can’t think of anything other than Lawvere’s take on Aufhebung (and subsequent developments here) that has made any sense to me as a ’dialectical logic’.

    Had a look through

where dialectical logic is described (footnote 8) as

a contraction free logic with unrestricted abstraction which included double negation.
