    I find this comment makes a good point in saying that pluralism is not actually the antonym to reductionism.

    Currently in the entry it says about reductionism:

    This contrasts with emergentism, which says that the entire field cannot be reduced to a common foundation.

    I don’t see that “emergence” (or “emergentism”) is in contrast to reductionism. Instead it is only on a reductionist backdrop that it makes sense to speak of emergence in the first place.

    The previous line in the entry says:

    Reductionism is a philosophical position which states that all of that field can be reduced to a common foundation.

    That doesn’t seem quite the right definition of reductionism, either.

    May I ask where you are taking these statements from? (Are you the same Anonymous as in #1?)
