Regular users can’t directly delete entries, we can only make them “orphaned” by ensuring that no other page links to them. In principle a server admin can run a command which causes all orphaned pages to be physically deleted.

In order to systematically orphan pages, we have the convention to rename the page by appending the string > history to its title (and deleting the redirect to the old page name which the wiki software will try to create upon renaming).

Have done this now for the present entry.

BUT, it looks to me like you could have avoided having this spurious page in the first place by renaming it to the lowercase version.

In case you haven’t seen it: Notice that below the big edit box is a check-box labeled “Change page name”. That’t what to use when, say, you change your mind about the capitalization of an entry’s title.

Thank you. I haven’t noticed that we can change page names. Now, I know it.
