Four new personal webs created recently:

    1. HomePage (kevinlin) Kevin Lin, public web
    2. HomePage (kevinlinprivate) Kevin Lin, private web
    3. HomePage (ibakovic) Igor Backovic, private but published web
    4. HomePage (lspace) Andrew Stacey, public web

lSpace is a web where I intend keeping notes on papers (and other stuff) that I read, or intend to read. I find that I often bookmark articles on the arXiv “for later reading” but forget why, I often take a look at a paper for something, make a few notes, and then later find either the article or the notes but can’t remember what either of them is about, and similar. So keeping this on a wiki seemed a reasonable idea. It’s linked from my bibliography database so I can easily create new entries and go back and forth between entries on the wiki and in the database. It’s public because there’s no good reason to make it private; I can’t think of a reason why anyone else would go there, but just because I can’t think of it doesn’t mean that there isn’t such a reason.

The name is chosen to indicate two things: firstly, that I read books other than by Tolkien; secondly, that I often feel that my “categorical number” is about two less than everyone else’s around here!

The others can speak for themselves.

Thanks Andrew for setting this up for me!

I am not yet sure how I will use my nLab web(s). My notes are often very unorganized, and I often lose them or lose track of where I’ve written something down; so I plan to use my personal web as a searchable, consolidated place to keep important notes. I also plan to use it as a place to keep track of papers and references. Perhaps I will try to maintain a personal annotated bibliography. For now, I’ll probably only use the private web, and then move things to the public web later on.
