The spam detector kicks in for two reasons:
The edit you made is overly large in relation to what the software determines is your scale of contribution so far. In this case one can work around the detector by saving the edit in smaller chunks at a time. (But since you have already contributed a substantial amount, I doubt this is the issue).
There is a character string in your edit which is on a list of strings deemed indicative of spam. This can be triggered accidentally in more ways than one might think. (For instance it used to be the case that writing Martin Tangora triggered the spam detector, because “tango” was on that list.) So if this is the case, one has to tediously work around it by deleting parts of the edit until what remains is accepted, thereby narrowing in on the critical string.
