I noticed last night, quite by accident, that in the last week or two Dominic Verity’s quasi-mythical 1992 Cambridge Ph.D. thesis Enriched categories, internal categories and change of base was published as a TAC Reprint. You’d think they’d announce these reprints on the categories list or something. Anyway, I’ve often wanted to read it, so I thought I’d mention this here in case anyone else was looking for it.

I have added the reference to base change and to Dominic Verity

As far as mythical theses, it was bugging me this weekend – is the thesis of Nijenhuis available (Amsterdam 1952, quite often cited, including by Sternberg’s Lectures on differential geometry) and what language is it in (most likely Dutch ? or maybe German ? English?).

Hooray! Thanks for the heads-up, Finn.

Finn (and others): you can subscribe to announcements from TAC, in which case you'll get an email whenever a new paper appears. (And this is all you get.) For example, I got one announcing Dom's thesis the other week. For how to subscribe, see the TAC site.

Out of interest, who here didn't know that it was possible to receive these TAC announcements?

I think I remember seeing that before, but I didn’t remember it offhand. I subscribe to general TAC postings using Page2RSS in my feed reader, but when I set it up I forgot to also add a subscription to the Reprints page. Now I’ve fixed that!

    Same here. Thanks, Tom.
