Sridhar noticed that we also have fully faithful (infinity,1)-functor. I see that Urs added a link, but really we should merge them. The article full and faithful (infinity,1)-functor is more developed, but one might argue that in the -case the name “fully faithful” is more appropriate since it is not a conjunction of separate notions of “full” and “faithful”. Thoughts?
Yes, agree. The reason I didn’t merge them is that, with implying the need to fight the cache bug afterwards, it is always a bit of a pain. I felt like being in a hurry.
What exactly does “fighting the cache bug” consist of? Is there anything to be done other than observe that it has occurred?
One has to log into the server, then figure out and then write some huge command line to remove the old cache file!
Ah, okay. I’ve never known how to do that myself. Can we figure out a way to automate this or at least make it easier? How do you go about figuring out the command line? Is it algorithmically predictable from the name of the page that has the cache bug?
So, I keep forgetting what the precise symbol string is that I have to type. But it is stated in the help file.
The simplest thing to do would be to create a mini-mini script that translates something like
clearcache full+and+faithful+(infinity,1)+functor
into the string actually needed.
But it is stated in the help file.
It is? I don’t see it.
I went ahead and did the merging, so now we have the cache bug. I would be happy to clear the cache and write a mini-script to do it in future, if someone can tell me how to derive the correct command.
It is?
Yes. After the discussion of updates in the help file. The code is
rm -i ~/instiki/cache/views/nlab/show/page+title.cache
And of course I have tried to clear the cache now, but something is not working…
Okay, I have created the 1-line bash script. Now one can just type
./clearcache entry+title
I still haven’t cleared the cache of “full and faithful (infinity,1)-functor”-though. It keeps saying the file does not exist. Maybe I am not escaping the parenthesis correctly, or something. But I have to stop fiddling with this now.
Ah, okay. The only login I have is labelf
; apparently your help file and cache-clearing ability only come from logging in as nlab
.
That’s right, I log in as “nlab”. Didn’ know that you have less access rights. That shouldn’t be so.
I don’t even know where my credentials to log on to the server are anymore, so I can’t test this. But Urs, try replacing the parentheses with asterisks.
