I corrected the reference: the page numbers are not 1-219 but 127-168, and added the links to article page in doi (nonfree) and euclid (free).

So it’s a kind of coalgebra for an endofunctor? Wasn’t there something about the hyperfinite $II_1$ factor being a fixed point for a similar functor?

Oh yes, I was asking something about this on MO in my coalgebra phase. Think I was hoping for a terminal coalgebra characterisation.
