Vanilla 1.1.10 is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support.
We've updated to ruby1.9. As with any update, there've been the odd teething issues. The main ones seem to be to do with unicode characters. The exact details aren't important, most have been fixed, but there is one "feature" that isn't and (probably) isn't going to get fixed. That's to do with non-ascii characters within mathematical expressions. The rule is:
Anything that will be parsed by iTeX should be ASCII only, and (X)HTML/SGML entities should be numbered rather than named.
The most likely situation where this will occur is in \text{}
commands embedded in mathematics. Within normal mathematics, one should always use the relevant iTeX command.
So
\text{∞-category}
and
\text{∞-category}
won't work but
\text{∞-category}
and
\text{∞-category}
will work. I think that there are links to entity charts for those who need them.
Please report any other issues.
Presumably this should be on the FAQ or somewhere?
Yes, I was in a rush when writing this and here seemed the best place to flag it. It should get added to the FAQ. If no-one else does it, I'll do it when I get a spare moment.
