    Hello, fellow ncats.

    I find the nLab to be a precious and practically invaluable source of information, and for that reason I am concerned about its future, perhaps even its present. Therefore, I intended to create a read-only mirror, as the official site is a bit slow, at least in my area.

    I know that the export feature of Instiki has been disable for some time for performance reasons (IIRC), but what happened to the Bazaar repository? I have an old version of it on my hard drive, but when I proceed to update it using `bzr pull` I get an error message along the lines 'error: not a branch: blah'.

    Has anyone been looking into this? Is it going to be fixed in the foreseeable future? Is there a way the community could help, technically or otherwise?

    Hi normand,

    we are not well equipped with people looking into this. Our sysadmin Adeel Khan is kindly taking care of things, but I suppose he is plenty busy otherwise. In particular it seems he doesn’t as of late find time to follow the nForum here.

    If you do volunteer to lend a hand – which would be greatly appreciated, best if you contact Adeel by email, give him an idea of who you are and what you could offer, and then see how to proceed.

    This sounds very interesting, I would be willing to lend a hand with this. Where do you plan to host the mirror: on a university server?

    However, I think we should certainly switch to a git or mercurial repository as part of this. These are universally adopted. I suggest that this repository be hosted on the same server as the nLab itself, if we can obtain permission.

    I can envision further useful things with such a repository, such as tweaking instiki to make a git commit when a change is made to a page. We would then have a proper way of managing the nLab.
