How do I subscribe to a discussion?

If I click on the link on the left, some blinking green dots appear, and they seem to never stop (and I get no emails).

How does it work, am I missing anything obvious? (In which case I apologize!)

I could never get that to work either. There's some discussion of it around here somewhere.

    Yes, here: https://nforum.ncatlab.org/discussion/7091/request-hung-when-activating-notifications/.

And apparently it worked once, because here's some older discussion that ended with it working: https://nforum.ncatlab.org/discussion/323/notification/, https://nforum.ncatlab.org/discussion/2984/notification/, https://nforum.ncatlab.org/discussion/2983/testing-notification/.

If this is something we feel needs fixing, then the only thing to do about it is to email our system administrator Adeel Khan.

However, I feel that there are much more pressing issues, and Adeel’s spare time budget for this is small, so that I’d be inclined to postpone this until the arrival of better days.
