I made a note of the fact that simple high-school algebra applied to the “Archimdean definition” of pi leads to the Vieta product formula.

Updated an nForum link from the mathforge domain to the ncatlab domain.

1. Just a trivial query about terminology: though it makes sense, I had not seen the term ’hemicircle’ used before, having always rather seen ’semicircle’. Is ’hemicircle’ in widespread use?
