Is there a bug in the handling of theorem numbering? The last paragraph of this page refers to "Theorem 3" but it should really be "Theorem 6."

Oh, I think I have an idea why... Theorem 6 is the sixth .num_theorem, but only the third such theorem that has a #label assigned to it.

Ah, so it's all very well to use the .num_theorem CSS class, but if you don't assign a reference to it then it doesn't count in some significant way. Sounds as though there's two counters - one for numbering the theorems and one for the references - that should be the same.

I guess the quick fix is to assign a reference to every time you use a .num_thing class.

I checked with Jacques. Yes, this is a "feature". Doesn't sound as though it's going to go away (apparently it makes it easier to define new theorem-like environments without hacking the instiki code). So the fix is to make sure that each numbered thing gets its own label.

I guess that this is a candidate for an FAQ on the nLab ...

  1. I guess that perhaps you were looking for this thread Tim?
