It looks like the nlab page split equalizer is missing an arrow t:CBt:C\to B that existed in the diagrams in edits years ago but was somehow lost. I tried to edit the page and add tt back into the diagram but the formatting is daunting to say the least and I’m not familiar with the syntax, but if someone more knowledgeable than I could fix it for posterity that would be lovely.

  1. Thanks very much for raising! We should redo those diagrams in tikzcd. See here for an indication of the syntax. We are in the process of deprecating the old method of creating SVG figures directly. I do not have time just now to create the Tikz figures; maybe somebody else could do so?

(On my screen I can actually see the arrow tt, but this is one of the problems with the direct SVG method, it is a bit fragile.)

Update diagrams to tikzcd syntax. Also removed comment about using “Leibniz order” for composition of morphisms, which IMHO was unnecessary and confusing.

Much appreciated! I generally use xymatrix for diagrams which I take it is against the current trend here, in the future I’ll use tikzcd to fix up diagrams.

  2. Thanks very much Mike, much appreciated! Looks very nice now! I agree with the removal!

  3. Tweak the paragraph about interchanging ff and gg as well.

  4. It’s just that the tikz functionality is a new feature, and xymatrix support hasn’t been added yet. It will be straightforward to do so, I’ll see if I have time this evening.

  5. [Administrative note: merged another thread into this one, and deleted the other one. ]

Thank you Richard, the tikz syntax seems easy enough to pick up but I am certainly a creature of habit :-).
