The SVG Editor works best with the latest firefox (3.6), otherwise there are some weird effects with offsets and the like.
]]>Yeah, there was something funky with itex for me too. I spent some embarrassing amount of time trying to draw a picture with some itex and the rendered version had the itex location offset from where it appeared in the editor. This might be related to the offset Mike is talking about that appears in the editor itself.
I gave up and went back to jpg. It'd be great if I could actually use the SVG editor.
]]>I have a lot of trouble with the SVG editor. It is supposed to have itex now, but when I tried to add itex the last time I used it, the text displays offset by some weird amount from the "anchor" for that element. Also, at the moment it isn't working for me at all -- it opens up, but none of the buttons is responsive and I can't draw anything. Does anyone else have problems like these?
]]>Sounds a good idea. Also sounds like javascript which I certainly know absolutely nothing about. Jacques is learning fast, due to the SVG Editor, but if anyone feels like contributing this particular bit of code, I'm sure he'd welcome any suggestions.
]]>Mike used it when he did the SVG at solid functor. I don't see anything in the RSS feed that explicitly says anything about the linking tool, but maybe it was a "hit and run" by some other bit of code.
]]>Yeah, I did have it working at one point, but I don't know what's wrong now.
]]>Ah, I see. I wondered what that tool was for. I just tried it as well and it didn't seem to work, but that's useful to know that it should work like that!
]]>Hold your mouse on the line tool. You'll see a second tool called the "anchored line tool". With this, you can set up all of the "vertices" (i.e. labels of the vertices) you want in your diagram with the text tool, then "attach them" with arrows, by clicking one and "attaching it" by a line to another one. The reason this is nice is that you can move the labels and the arrows automatically align.
This was working the last time I tried it, but I just tried it in two browsers and it is not working at the moment. I don't know what's wrong. Maybe Jacques uploaded a new build or something?
]]>Not sure I understand what you mean by "attach arrows to letters". Would you care to do an example so that I can see it in action?
]]>@Andrew: I'm not sure if you realized this, but you can attach arrows to letters. At least for the straight arrows, this seems like it would save you some effort.
Edit: Haha, I just checked out the rest of the page. There's my giant diagram from MO that I made with an array.
