The reference I gave

Which one? Ah, this one. Okay, thanks!

]]>The reference I gave, Homotopy Invariant Commutative Algebra over fields, is nicely conversational, and gives the ’philosophy’ of the program.

]]>One would hope that there is a good reference reviewing the basics, but I am not sure if there is. John Greenlees in his talk kept mentioning the many previous talks he had given on the subject.

]]>The interest lies in the fact that Gorenstein ring spectra tend to exhibit Gorenstein duality. The latter is effectively a version of Anderson duality.

The examples of Gorenstein duality that John Greenlees and his students mentioned in the talks yesterday were developments of the two examples that the nLab presently lists at *Anderson duality*. Lennart Meier has a hand in many of the recent examples that were computed, such as arXiv:1607.02332

Since I wondered what they were, I started an entry Gorenstein ring spectrum, which then needed Gorenstein ring. Not sure I’m much the wiser as to their importance. There should be a lot to say about related duality.
