This appears to be called Stigler’s law of eponymy on Wikipedia. Is there good reason to have a separate term?
Probably there is no good reason. Even if there is, the entry fails to explain or cite its choice of terminology.
I’d appreciate it if you could take care of this entry.
On the other hand, it’s borderline off-topic for the Lab in any case and seems to have been motivated mostly as a joke. Probably little harm would be done by just deleting the entry.
The mentioning of “Baez’s law” still seems odd. The only reference given for its “use” is a comment by John Baez himself, who writes:
I can’t believe I forgot my own law, Baez’s Law,
This seems to be a case of fooling around on the internet and not something the nLab needs to be recording.
