The location that the "Home" tab takes you to is customisable - if you go to your account page (click on "Account" from the above) then in the panel on the left-hand side there's an option "Change Home Category". This allows you to designate a particular category as your "Home". For example, on Azimuth (John's other forum) then I have it set to the "Technical" thread since I want to be sure that I don't miss anything in that category. Here, some might like to have it pointing to the "nLab Latest Changes" category. It's purely a convenience.
