Is something odd going on on nLab? I was seeing 500 errors at several pages, and now I’m sent straight to an edit page for an entry.

Adeel was kindly trying to fix the bugs that were being triggered by the entry “A first idea of quantum field theory”. The nLab should be back to normal now (which means that these bugs remain, but at least on most pages viewing and editing should be as usual).

    Thanks Adeel!

Hm, editing pages still doesn’t seem to work.

Oh thank goodness; I thought it was a problem with my new external editor extension. This is really weird behavior: clicking save on an edit page just reloads the edit page.

And also really annoying, because all attempted edits are silently lost!

While Adeel is absorbed by other duties, we urgently need somebody to offer help with administrating the nLab, and maybe look into fixing the bugs.

How about Rod McGuire or Dmitri Pavlov?

Might you have any interest in lending a hand with the admin?

I do not have masses of time, but I would be willing to try to help when time permits if you are interested. (My job is as a software engineer, so I should at least be qualified :-).)

Thanks, Richard. I should have thought of you. Probably there are others, too, here, who I am forgetting. I’ll send around an email…

In principle I could do it — I have plenty of experience with this sort of thing — but it would take a substantial time investment in learning Ruby and Instiki, which I don’t really have available right now (and won’t for the foreseeable future).

    Clearing cookies worked for me.

It didn’t for me. I cleared my cache and cookies, and tried to edit pi, and when I hit submit it tells me that the page pi is locked.

Edit: now I got it to work.

Sorry for not saying this earlier. My bad.
