  1. Preliminary notes for symanzik effective theory in the context of scale setting procedures for calculating hadronic observables using chiral perturbation theory, which involves discretization corrections, where the SET is employed.

Thanks. I’ll be interested in having a look when it’s further developed.

For the moment I have just de-capitalized “lattice QCD” in order to make the intended link to lattice QCD come out.

Conversely, I suppose “Symanzik” ought to be capitalized, no?

I have added a reference with review:

as well as references for the original articles:

    • Kurt Symanzik, Section 3 of: Some topics in quantum field theory In: Schrader R., Seiler R., Uhlenbrock D.A. (eds.) Mathematical Problems in Theoretical Physics Lecture Notes in Physics, vol 153, Springer 1982 (doi:10.1007/3-540-11192-1_11)

    • Kurt Symanzik, Continuum limit and improved action in lattice theories: (I). Principles and ϕ 4\phi^4 theory, Nuclear Physics B Volume 226, Issue 1, 26 September 1983, Pages 187-204 Nuclear Physics B (doi:10.1016/0550-3213(83)90468-6)

Then I added the following lead-in sentence to the top of the Idea-section, for orientation:

In the field of quantum chromodynamics, what is known as Symanzik’s effective field theory (Symanzik 82, Symanzik 83) is a type of effective field theory used in lattice QCD in order to deal with lattice-spacing effects.

Also, I went ahead and capitalized “Symanzik” in the title.

Thanks! I originally did not capitalize those terms in the body since I am still unfamiliar with capitalization protocol for linking purposes. I will be updating this gradually as I am currently working on a tangential project with the last reference as a basis.

    Thanks, sounds good!

The title convention is (see here):

Page titles should be uncapitalized, except for words that are always capitalized.

So e.g. Einstein’s equations since “einstein’s equations” looks weird.
