Over on the categories mailing list, Michael Barr is worried that his institute will eventually delete the content of his personal page math.mcgill.ca/barr, where he keeps electronic copies of most of his publications.
With a little effort, we can copy all these bibitems and their pdf-s to the “Selected writings”-section here to save them for posterity.

Re: #2
I am happy to help with this effort. It looks like you are currently doing the 2010 - present? In that case, I can start on 1990 - 1999 papers. This way you may continue to 2000 - 2009.
Great, thanks!
Yes, I was just going down the list here, item by item, whenever I had a free minuite.
So far, most of the items actually have already a freely available pdf version stably hosted somewhere on the web (such as by TAC), and we can just link to these.
In cases where the only freely available pdf is on Barr’s personal site, we should make a copy to the nLab server.

This completes the first list “2010-present” here (going anti-chronologically, top to bottom).

Barr’s page is also available on Web Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20230000000000*/https://math.mcgill.ca/barr/. So it’s not going to disappear either way.
The WaybackMachine provides file retrieval but not hosting.
Its content is not indexed by search engines, one needs to feed it an exact url for it to respond.
Since it’s not focused on the academic content that we care about here, the spooks have already been trying to shut it down.
As long as it exists it’s useful for retrieving and then saving to our server documents that are not stably hosted elsewhere.

I tried telling Barr to put all his papers on the arXiv, some years ago, but he refused because they wanted the LaTeX source, and he didn’t want to give that.
