The discussion about the proposed new journal has reached such a stage that it is getting hard to follow all the cross-conversations. So I’ve created some new categories on the nForum to cater for discussions relevant to the journal: Organisation, Technical, and Articles. I suggest that the current discussion be split (from now on) in to new discussions according to topic. For example, the proposals for the name of the journal go in one discussion (under Organisation) whilst the discussion about potential editors should go in another.
I was wondering what happened to those threads.
Somehow I wound up following this page (?CategoryID=18) which has 2 ’Organization’ subheadings - one resolves to ’nLab > Organisation’ and the other to ’nJournal > Organisation’.
However this page (?CategoryID=23) seems to be for nJournal, but the subcategory of ’nJournal > Organisation’ isn’t reported there - instead there is an empty subcategory page (?CategoryID=24) for ’nJournal > Technical’ which maybe is supposed to be ’nJournal > Organisation’.
Well spotted. It seems that the names of the categories need to be unique, otherwise the system that figures out the parent-child relationships gets confused (it’s not exactly the most sophisticated system …).
