Well, a spammer got through the Captcha. I moved it to Trash (I could have deleted it —it's undeniably spam— but I don't want to start down that slippery slope unless we get significant amounts of this stuff). But you can still see it on the main page.

Perhaps we should hide entries in the Trash category from the main page? People can always see it if they go looking for it, of course.

Good idea. I'll have a look to see how to do that - it's not immediately obvious.

In the meantime, I've banned our spammer. How aggressive do we want to be? I know this person's email address (or one of them!) and it has to have been an active email address to sign on, and I know the IP address that they used. Presumably there's somewhere that I can report both of these.

What's interesting is that they got past the sign-on captcha rather than the guest post recaptcha. The sign-on captcha is an older system than the recaptcha. I guess I should update it to the new one.

Incidentally, it is already partially hidden. You have to be logged on to see it.
