Igor Khavkine has recreated the entry Proper Homotopy Theory. The old copy gave an error message, (Application error (Apache)

Something very bad just happened. I just know it. Do you smell smoke?) I would rename his copy to be the main one but I don’t recall how to do this, and it would be good to know what went wrong with the old page.

(I have put this also on ’Proper homotopy theory’ but it seems best to put it here as well. I though‘Clouds of smoke’ as ’topic’ would get the attention of someone (Andrew!))

For some reason I answered at the “proper homotopy” thread, though I did read this one. I’ll link to my answer there just for completeness. http://www.math.ntnu.no/~stacey/Mathforge/nForum/comments.php?DiscussionID=879&Focus=25332#Comment_25332

    But where is Igor’s version?

Actually, I copied Igor’s version over to proper homotopy theory as he’d corrected a couple of wikilinks. But apart from that and the corrected list, it was identical to the original. I don’t know the story as to how Igor got hold of the source but wasn’t able to edit the original page, maybe he had the source from some other time? The page that Igor created is at proper homotopy > history, but you have to go back one step in the history.

Did Igor create it at Proper Homotopy Theory, as Tim’s post suggests? Whatever title he used, that should be a redirect now; that’s what I’m after.

Ah, I see. No, the capitalised version was only ever in Tim’s post. Igor’s version was at something like proper homotopy theory (unbroken version) but is now renamed to proper homotopy > history. I left the redirect in so you can see what he originally called it.

    Ah, OK, thanks!

Incidentally, Jacques says that this is now fixed. I’ll update the software tomorrow morning.
