Someone created a page Gabriel-Zisman. I have changed the name to Gabriel and Zisman and made a start on a (stub) entry.
Hi Tim,
this duplicates the entry Calculus of fractions and homotopy theory, which was already redirecting Gabriel-Zisman (and which used to be its original title).
I think entries on books should by default have the book title as title. Or anyways as redirect. Also, they choud be in
category: reference
Here I would suggest that we remove the new entry.
(Why could it be created despite the existing redirect, anyway?)
Oh, no. The cache bug or something: I see we have now at least three different versions of this entry.
Sorry, was that my fault? I put in a redirect for Gabriel-Zisman to Gabriel and Zisman. Should I remove it?
Fine. Remove the extra copies!!!
The new one is now Gabriel and Zisman > history. Everything else (with both hyphen and en dash, which was causing some confusion) now redirects to Calculus of fractions and homotopy theory. (If the cache bug makes it look otherwise, try to edit the page to see that it’s fake.)
Pierre Gabriel who seemed (at least to me and people whom I asked about him) to disappear from mathematical community for years, opened a very nice web page in his usual perfect aesthetic, precise and concise style. The web page also reveals about his more recent, non-mathematical activities related to the culture and poetry of the historical province where he was born:
