Why do we want closed space to redirect to closed subspace?
What is a closed space, if not a closed subspace?
A closed manifold, hence the disambiguation block.
I generally don't see ‘closed space’ as such; Google gives me only ‘H-closed space’, a mistake made by an undergraduate (who knew that they were confused), and non-mathematical stuff. I would leave it either unlinked or a new page that links to closed subspace, closed manifold, and maybe compact space.
Yeah, I’ve never seen ’closed space’ as such. But I think I better understand your #1: it’s not that you want closed space to begin with, it’s that you don’t want it at all! And I’d agree. ’Closed set’ on the other hand is a different story.
Right; when people say ‘closed set’, they mean a concrete set (a subset of some ambient class), not an abstract set (an object of some well-pointed pretopos). Other words have concrete and abstract senses, but ‘space’ is used only in an abstract sense.
