    I wrote in one of the entries question to Toby why the creation of history page at the places where just a renaming is done ? Why not just chnaging the name and leaving the redirect. The way it is done now separates old versions into a differently named entry. Just renaming it and having a redirect is easier and does not have such bad effects.

    I'm not creating any history pages, I'm only slightly renaming old history pages; see the discussion Forward slashes in names (towards the end).

    Almost all of these pages were originally created before we had redirects; a few of them are accidental duplicates in one way or another. But none of them are being created now, only moved around.

    To be more explicit: One of the pages that I just moved used to be fibered n category -- history. Now it's fibered n category > history. And instead of the contents being

    See n-fibration.

    category: redirect

    which was originally a very ad hoc form, now it's

    < fibered n category

    which is supposed to look smooth and elegant.

    But the sad fact that there are two pages, this one and the new title n-fibration, was established back on April 20, before we had redirects.

    And on July 1, after we got redirects, that is when fibered n category was moved to fibered n category -- history and the redirect was placed at n-fibration; the discussion for that was at Redirects -- what now?.

    So I was right -- this made sense only before redirects:) But I did not know that such moves were done just before. I like more > sign as it is now better then -- sign which was before! Thanks again.

    By the way, Andrew, if you're reading this, the link to fibered n category > history from the Forum doesn't work; it links to http://ncatlab.org/nlab/show/fibered+n+category+&gt;+history instead of to http://ncatlab.org/nlab/show/fibered+n+category+>+history as it should.

    William, it would be cool to have a git blame like feature for the nlab. Perhaps, this could be done in the edit box ?

    I’m not entirely sure how difficult it would be to implement this, and hence whether it is worth the trouble.

  9. Hi Bas, I’m sure it could be done. I would probably see it as extra functionality in the /diff endpoint. What information exactly would you like to see? Just the author who made the last edit to each line and when this edit was made, or something more?
