Someone anonymous has made the page Zhuo Chen, perhaps Professor Chen himself.
The IP address traces to an educational institution in China.
In fact: ma044.math.tsinghua.edu.cn, in Chen’s own department.
And now someone has created Poisson Geometry and Mathematical Physics. I see that Chenchang Zhu is a participant in this conference webpage. My guess is that it’s either Ping Xu or Mathieu Stienon, both listed as participants, as the IP address is located in State College, where Penn State uni is located.
Should we at least ask that people announce such pages here? I wouldn’t want this practice to take off for just any area of mathematics, and it would be good to know who is doing it.
I’ll record my conviction that the creation of any page with personal information about any academic working on topics relevant for the Lab, by that academic or anyone else, is entirely acceptable, subject to standard quality demands, and is in fact to be appreciated, in particular if other pages mention the name. I create stubby such pages for people like this all the time, and I keep finding it useful that when I navigate to any page I have links to relevant authors right there at my fingertips.
In the present case I labeled Zhuo Chen as
category:people
as I do for all such entries, and added hyperlinks to the keywords appearing.
I definitely agree with that.
