I’m not sure I’ve chosen the correct category (Diagrams), but various images at product of simplices seem to be broken. It looks like they were first compiled by Urs.

That happened at various places when the “codecogs” service for remote rendering of xypic-diagrams went out of business. This also affects Joyal’s CatLab in many places.

Luckily the intended xypic-code is visible in the source of these nLab pages. In principle somebody could go, copy-and-paste the code into a local directory, run LaTeX on it and then grab and then include the resulting graphics back into the nLab page.

2: but how do you produce a small gif from LaTeX formula in command line work ?

Produce a local PDF with the content and then use a screen grabbing tool to get a jpg for the diagram. Then include that via

Capturing and uploading a screen image is more fully discussed in this nForum thread: frobenius-algebra.

See also this list for online tex-to-image converters. Some of the options there are down or won’t handle xy, but e.g. this one seems to. Also see this list and this one for some command-line options.
