In this nForum thread products-of-simplices I wanted to link to another thread, frobenius-algebra which more fully discusses making and uploading a screen captured image.

However I couldn’t find that thread by Google search. Here is a Google search that seems to turn up that thread: “bizarre process for uploading an image” site:http://nforum.ncatlab.org/ but it doesn’t give the thread but instead some useless search postback entry: nforum.ncatlab.org/search/131/?PostBackAction=Search....

Here is a different Google search RodMcGuire sandbox site:http://nforum.ncatlab.org/ which does turn up some real nForum threads (but not the right one) but also a lot of PostBackAction results.

Why is Google no longer indexing nForum discussions and why is it indexing (saved?) search requests, and is nForum really saving search requests?

I eventually found that thread by doing an internal nForum search for “bizarre” but I needed several tries before I found an internal search that worked.

It certainly seems like a good idea to include /search as a prohibited directory in robots.txt.

Those searches still give PostBackAction pages (although this page is now at the top).
