The entry for pseudomonoid is quite bare. Could somebody add a couple of references to it (or ideally, expand the page)? Thanks!
Why not do a bit of a search yourself? :-)
Well, if you google “pseudomonoid” you’ll see that the first results appearing aren’t exactly introductory! That prompted me to ask the question – I figured specialists would be able to throw in a couple of references in a couple of minutes without too much hassle.
On the other hand, I later thought about Aguiar-Mahajan’s book, and appendix C.2 has a nice introduction.
Added a reference for pseudomonoid, the paper in which Day and Street introduce the concept. Was going to put the whole definition in but then realized I’m tired of typesetting big diagrams!
I think the concept is older than that paper, but it’s a good reference nonetheless.
Ah fair enough. I just sort of followed this trail of breadcrumbs until I found a place that defined something called a pseudomonoid without referencing someone else’s definition of a pseudomonoid. They do, of course, reference things called “doctrines” elsewhere.
