I have spelled out the proof (here) of the claim from

• Michel Dubois-Violette, Ivan Todorov, Exceptional quantum geometry and particle physics II (arXiv:1808.08110)

that the stabilizer in the automorphism group $F_4$ of the octonionic Albert algebra “of a 4d Minkowski subspace” happens to be the exact gauge group of the standard model of particle physics.

Tweaking to use the new theorem environment syntax, just to check that it works in this case. [Edit: seems to have worked fine.]

All right, thanks. Now I am so used to the old syntax… :-)

Is it okay if we keep using both dialects, or should I get into the habit of adopting the new one?

No problem at all (for me at least!) using the old form, use whatever you prefer :-). I just wished to check that the new syntax worked OK on this example.
