I just see that rather recently Philip Hirschhorn (apparently felt there was still room to feel the need for and then) put a writeup of “a complete and careful proof” of the model structure on TopTop on the preprint server:

    • Philip Hirschhorn, The Quillen model structure on topological spaces (arXiv:1508.01942)

I have now added this pointer into our entry model structure on topological spaces.

That reminds me that this and related nnLab entries (also model structure on simplicial sets etc.) are not exactly shining examples of well laid-out entries. Nobody ever bothered to make them be more than a bunch of brief remarks.

I have a feeling that nice topological space is not the most effective link, and that convenient category of topological spaces would be better.

Ronnie Brown at one point wanted to duplicate a lot of the latter at the former, but I resisted the idea, one because there was already a dedicated entry, but also because there are many senses of “nice”, some of which we have recorded at the former. But it’s a bit of a grab bag.

Thanks for catching this. That part originates in revision 18 from March 2011. I went now and briefly adjusted the wording. The whole entry still deserves more cleaning-up though.

I have made “q-model structure” and “m-model structure” redirect to this page here.

Of course, maybe “q-model structure” should redirect to classical model structure on topological spaces and “m-model structure” might want to point to its own page, eventually. If anyone feels ambitious about this, please go ahead and make such changes.
