Hello to the nForum! I plan to regularly contribute new material and overall mathematical and editorial work to the nLab as part of a concerted project initiated by Maxim Sokhatskyi here. The other member of this project is Mark Gomer, who does very interesting work on quantum foundations and related mathematical/scientific topics. I’ll let him say more if he wants. As far as preconceived activity goes, my plan is to continue contributing along the lines of Cartan geometry and an array of related topics, informed by interests in Lie theory and hypercomplex analysis. I also seriously enjoy the underlying algebra of these areas, and admire the connections between Clifford algebras and Lie theory. My affection for mathematical foundations does lead me to appreciate other aspects of Maxim’s initiative, such as his emphasis on formalizing mathematics in proof assistants. This is something I care about, and most recently have spent some time tinkering with a formalization of some Klein geometry in cubicaltt; this would be based on a notion of homogenous space expressed by a HoTT-style definition of étale map. Fun stuff.
Anyway, let me just say that I admire the community surrounding the nLab and look forward to contributing what I can and undoubtedly learning a lot in the process! Good to know that edit comments are posted directly on the nForum, I did not realize this until I checked here. If there are any other house rules or information I should have, please let me know.
Hello James, welcome! This sounds great, looking forward to your contributions!
