    Hi Richard,

just to say that something is wrong with the announcement mechanism. I just made edits to a handful of pages, each with a little announcement in the corresponding box, but none of these announcements appeared here.

I was just going to raise that same point. I created and edited several pages and added a little announcement yet nothing appeared here.

This seems to have been caused by Python being upgraded on the machine on which the nLab server is running at CMU. Not only announcements but numerous other pieces of functionality were broken by this (nForum discussion links, all pages, the citation generator, author contributions, …). I have now hopefully fixed everything (none of the source code needed changing, but some other tweaks needed to be made to avoid relying on a version that is no longer present on the machine). I have asked our contact CMU whether he knows anything about who might have carried out the upgrade, we obviously cannot have things like this carried out without being notified; I really didn’t have time to fix this today and would have not done so if it were not a major break in functionality!

Thanks, Richard. Sorry for the trouble.
